What do we do? Church Women United brings women together for spiritual enrichment and faith-based advocacy and community service.

We have several ongoing projects for which volunteers are always welcome:

• Church Women United Choir - rehearses weekly to sing for Church Women United events and monthly concerts at nursing homes. Contact Linda Moore 225-7027.
• Task Force on Courts - trains people with no previous legal knowledge to observe court procedings on a weekly basis.
• Community Food Cupboard - provides food for families and seniors in emergency situations in the northeast sector of the county.
• Housing Advocacy Coalition - educates and advocates for affordable housing.

This spring we began a new three part initiative in which we will educate ourselves to gain insight on a particular social issue and take action.

How do we do it all? Leadership for our organization is provided by a local actively involved board of directors and an executive committee comprised of the officers. Many other dedicated women volunteer their time on committee and to help publicize and serve at celebrations and on projects. We maintain ties to local and national ecumenical and interfaith bodies, and yet are independently active in local programs, projects and celebrations.
