Community Food Cupboard
The Community Food Cupboard of Rochester is an independent, not-for-profit, incorporated agency formed in 1979. It is supported by churches of many denominations, as well as individuals and organizations in the community.
It serves sections of Northeast Rochester and the town of Irondequoit, including zip codes 14604, 14605, 14617, 14621 and portions of 14609 and 14622.
The Cupboard seeks to provide food to families and seniors when these persons cannot provide an adequate diet by their own means. Referrals are received from social agencies and clergy following assessment of each person's needs.
Programs
Emergency Food - Provides up to five days' supply of food to families needing short term assistance and who have been referred by approved agencies.
Senior Baskets - Provides a six day supply of food monthly to older persons of low income. Foods for speical diets, e.g. diabetic and low sodium, are included where needed.

- fruit - regular and low sugar

- potatoes - canned and boxed
- rice
- jello - regular and sugar free
- canned puddings
- jams and jellies
- paper products
- soap
- soap powder
- cash donations to purchase food or pay for operating expenses
